My Experience at the International Women’s Day Event: ISA Support Services Sponsors Event at Meta HQ

11th March 2024

I’m excited to share my experience attending the recent International Women’s Day (IWD) event, sponsored by ISA Support Services, held at Meta HQ. It was a fantastic opportunity to come together and celebrate the achievements of women in the security industry.

During the event, one notable highlight was the opening act by a South Asian Bhangra group. It was a moment that truly exemplified the progress we’ve made as an industry. Twenty years ago, such cultural diversity and representation would have been unheard of. Witnessing this performance was a powerful reminder of how far we’ve come and the strides we’ve made towards inclusivity and diversity within our industry.

Keynote speakers such as Gemma Quirke, Chief Operations Officer at Wilson James Ltd, and Heather Bailey, Chair of the Security Industry Authority (SIA), addressed the audience. One of the key themes that resonated with me was the discussion around the everyday struggles that women face in our industry. It was a powerful reminder of the challenges and barriers that many women encounter in their professional lives.

As someone who is deeply passionate about diversity and inclusion, attending this event was particularly meaningful to me. It was inspiring to see how ISA Support Services’ sponsorship of the event aligned perfectly with our company’s values and objectives, as it provided a platform to address these challenges and promote support and inclusion within our industry.

During the event, it was remarkable to witness the industry come together to celebrate International Women’s Day (IWD). The atmosphere was vibrant, and it was inspiring to see so many professionals united in recognition of women’s achievements in the security industry.

At ISA Support Services, we believe, initiatives like this play a crucial role in fostering diversity and inclusion within our company and the wider industry. By raising awareness about women’s challenges and promoting support and inclusion, we can create a more equitable and inclusive workplace for all.

In conclusion, attending the International Women’s Day event was a truly enriching experience. It was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate International Women’s Day and champion diversity and inclusion in the security industry. Let’s continue working towards a more inclusive and supportive environment for all professionals.
